Paris – some random photos

We have a lot of memories from Paris, and some of them are random memories that make me smile every time I think of them…

The day we arrived in Paris, we only had a few hours sleep the night before so we were very tired.  After dumping our luggage in the apartment, we made our way to the closest Batobus stop on the Seine and cruised along the river.  While it was cloudy when we arrived, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day to travel along the river…

I remember having to walk for ages as we decided not to catch the metro.  We were walking through local neighbourhoods and saw this:

Bonjour!! Even the bus stops are friendly.

The details of the Notre Dame are quite raw in some ways, but also very intricate in other ways…

On Saturday we went to a local bakery to pick up some handmade sandwiches (such as ham, brie, and mustard on a flute french stick).  We were recommended to go to a particular bakery and the street was holding an open market as it was a Saturday.  There were street sellers selling fragrant flowers, ice cream stalls, cheese stalls, deli meats, and cake stalls.  It was here that I tried the best chocolate ice cream ever – lovely dark, bitter chocolate…  yum.

One of the cheese stalls…  I really wanted to buy some but there was no way we could  finish it and do the cheese justice…

mmmmmm, cheese..........

The line of the bakery we visited.  Their flute french sticks were deliciously crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside.

On our last night in Paris we went to the Eiffel Tower to take some night shots.  It was very quiet and I freezed my butt off.  We spent ages walking around taking various photos, but this is my favourite.  We had to run to catch the last metro home, but luckily we made it 🙂
